Brown University Shooting - Another Community Shattered

Another shooting. Another community shattered. Another set of families and friends who will never be the same.

On December 13, 2025, a gunman opened fire on the campus of Brown University, ultimately killing two students and injuring nine otheres. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families. I’m grateful for the first responders who continue to put themselves in harms way and hope they are able to swiftly find those responsible for this tragedy.

It is time that we start offering solutions and action. We are in desperate need of responsible gun ownership. We may not all agree on the answers, but we should be united in the belief that this is unacceptable.

My hope is that we do not let familiarity turn into indifference. May we keep choosing empathy, even when we’re tired. And may we find the courage not only to mourn, but to act—so that one day, tragedies like this are no longer routine.
