Due Process is afforded to ALL

The Constitution doesn’t disappear when immigration is involved. Today, a federal judge rightly affirmed that due process applies to everyone — yes, even non-citizens.

Judge Boasberg’s ruling makes clear that deportations carried out by the Trump Administration without a hearing violate our basic legal principles of our Constitution. Now the Trump Administration will have to provide due process hearings for all the 137 individuals they sent to the CECOT facility in El Salvador. Something they have been fighting against almost all year long.
This is what happens when fear is used as policy and the rule of law is treated as optional. No president is above the Constitution. We must defend our courts, our democracy, and the fundamental principle that the government cannot jail or deport people without fairness and accountability. As your next congressman, I will hold those accountable who showed such blatant disregard for our Constitution and basic human rights and decency.
