Today, Congressman Barry Loudermilk of Georgia’s 11th District joined 426 of his colleagues in voting to release the Epstein files. However, it’s important to remember that this was not a vote Loudermilk was willing to cast just a few months ago, when 217 Democrats sought only one additional vote to compel release of these same files.

It was only after President Trump publicly urged Speaker Mike Johnson to move forward that Loudermilk changed his position. As has become his pattern, rather than prioritizing the expressed wishes of his constituents, Loudermilk chose only to follow direction from party leadership. The fact that his vote today happens to align with the will of his constituents appears to be merely a coincidence.

One thing is for sure: Chris would have been the 218th vote!
