Harden perspective: silence speaks volumes

Donald Trump isn’t sounding like a president — he’s sounding like a man auditioning to be an autocrat. Screaming for the arrest and execution of political opponents isn’t leadership; it’s the language of someone terrified of losing control.

Our military swears an oath to the Constitution, not to a man throwing digital tantrums in all caps. Everyone sees the pattern: when Trump feels threatened, he lashes out, labels critics ‘traitors,’ and tries to bully the country into submission.

It’s not strength. It’s panic dressed up as bravado. And our representative’s response to this dangerous, unhinged rhetoric? A big, fat nothing. Not a whisper. Not a syllable. Just silence.

That silence speaks volumes. When a president starts testing the boundaries of democratic norms, a real leader steps up. Ours hid. At a moment when courage was required, we got a shrug.

The American people deserve representatives who will call out reckless attacks on our democracy — not ones who pretend not to hear them. - Chris
